Damir Novinić, the director of the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness has garnered over ten years of experience in attracting foreign investments and development of competitiveness at the level of firms and regions.
His areas of specialty include: attracting foreign investments, promotion of exports, improvement of competitiveness and clustering, medium-sized businesses and business processes management, project management, regional development – development economics, marketing and corporate communications and business processes and restructuring.
In terms of his professional career, he spent the last four years working at the Croatian Radio and Television, in the capacity of General Manager from December 2011. He also served as Executive Director for business management with the company Jadran Invest ltd. which deals with investment funds. From 2006 until 2008 he worked for Development Alternatives Inc. as a Regional Manager for the implementation of a project aimed at increasing competitiveness, regional development and promotion. He was also a Member of the Board for marketing with the Pastor Group and the Chairman of Pastor Engineering.
During his 12 years of working in the U.S. Embassy, of which almost six he worked for USAID, he participated in the design and implementation of a series of projects. As a leader of USAID economic projects, he has designed and managed a portfolio of projects worth over 50 million USD and was the Chief Economic Advisor to the USAID Mission.
Damir Novinić was born in 1969 in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb in 1996. He speaks English and German, and uses the Italian language.
