A hotelier by heart, Aleksander Valentin graduated from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland in 2003. He also holds an MBA degree from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. After successfully completing his Bachelor degree in Switzerland he started off his professional career in New York, US, as a hotel valuation and investment analyst at HVS International (New York, US). He then returned to Slovenia where he has been taking active parts in various Food & Beverage roles, organizational and management positions.
His hospitality career took a new turn when he became Assistant General Manager for the opening of Kempinski Palace Portorož, Slovenia in 2008. Later, as an independent consultant he contributed to various hotel and food & beverage openings, most notably the Plaza hotel in Ljubljana, in 2012. Since 2012 he is General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons (formerly known as hotel Mons), which is the first Starwood Hotels & Resorts property in Slovenia. In addition to his daily responsibilities he is an active member of the Slovenian Hotelier Association and member of the Ljubljana Tourism Board. He is always open for a dialogue, works well within teams and is concentrated on creating cooperative and productive environments
